techie stuff

Boo is home today.

Boo is not in a good mood.

Boo is an arsehole.

Boo is now in his room contemplating WHY he shouldn’t beat up his mother.

Shit.

I am in the lounge.

I am nursing my wounds.  He only punched me a few times in the arm and head butted me.  But shit it hurt!

We were attempting to make jelly,  he was not agreeing with the amount of boiling hot water that was needed.  He tried to throw it.  I stopped him.  He took exception to that.

I am taking solace in the internet and coffee and  a family block of chocolate.

I joined NaBloPoMo,  a post a day for the month of November.  I wonder if I can manage that *snort*

AND I worked out HTML all by myself and put the badge on my sidebar.  The badges on the site have flash or whatever in them so can’t be supported on WordPress.  But I got around it and now I have a pretty new button!   All while listening to Boo tear his room apart in a rage and my arms burning.

So if you click on it you will go to my NaBloPoMo page.

I really truly rock you know.  I do.

Well today I have mastered website links and putting a picture link thingy in the sidebar. One day when I am not such a noob I will know the techie terms for these things but right now I am so dang proud of myself if I had the energy I would do a happy dance all over the place.

So note to self, this is how you do it girl 🙂

Links in posts:

click on ‘code’ in the post
click on link

type in web addy

write what I wanna call it (click here, site name…)
click on /link

and your done!

Putting picture link in sidebar:

  1. Go to ‘write new post.’
  2. Upload the picture you want to use.
  3. Go to ‘Manage’ and then ‘Uploads.’
  4. Click on the picture you want. See the URL for the image location.
  5. Copy the URL (highlight, control ‘C’)
  6. Go to ‘Presentation,’ and then ‘Sidebar Widgets.’
  7. Add a text widget.
  8. Enter your code like this:
  9. <a href=”http://www.insert-internet-destination-here.com“><img src=”http://www.paste-image-url-here.com“></a>

  10. Close the text widget and save.

Ta da!
