OMFG – I am so not moving to your house any more! What can I saw luv – we’re always in the shit, it’s only the depth that varies *snort* Want me to send some gumboots???
Well done Riayn – so important to look after yourself.
Once you get rid of the little bastards, teatree oil in a sprsay bottle of water (not sure if Boo would tolerate it though) is a great preventitive. Ask Mum about it, she got rid of them from my Bro’s hair without using any chemicals.
We use the tea tree oil as a preventer too. And don’t think they are any easier to get rid of with chemicals m’dear……. cos they fuckin aint! The damn chemicals don’t work anyhow! I use a natural based one that leaves everyone smelling like licorice – don’t know it would be chemical free enough for Boo though.
OMG I hope that Boo is OK. I really, really hope that you and he get some sleep tonight. The only other thing that I can think of as a symptom of concussion is that their eyes can kinda roll back in their head and I think that their pupils change – dilated all the time – any Nurses or Doctors out there reading this????
Seriolusly, I hope that Murphy is otherwise detained somewhere tonight, preferably in the other half of the world so he can’t get here in time, and that Boo doesn’t have any altercations with his nappy.
What a day you poor thing. Sounds like you need a day off to recover from the *holidays*
Rosemary oil – behind each ear and at the nape of the neck. Every. Single. Day. Don’t leave home without it.
If you want to know about using butter to get rid of them, do a search for lice on my blog (will get to the rosemary post then read the comments). Sorry, in big hurry, can’t link now.
Yep as Desertqueen said, watch for dilated pupils, floppy body and “rolling eyes”- hard I know. Hugs to you and Boo.
That tea-tree oil spray works fan-bloody-tastic, use the water soluble oil, no probs.
Hope you both get some decent sleep tonight- have you tried a radio in his room overnight, really soft volume ?(works for mine-he has to be quiet to hear the voices/music)
What an awful, awful day. (Sorry the positive spin didn’t work on me.) I hope right now you and yours are peacefully sleeping, that somehow you find the time to deforest your eyebrows and that, tonight, the mattress protector isn’t needed.
Kel – there’s no way to not snort a little. I’m sorry. I truly am. I’m not laughing AT you, I’m laughing with you. Seriously. You are the strongest person I know -
Oh Kelley nits are a nightmare.. My hair was probably as long as yours when Dave had the super-mutated giant nits from hell.I swear you could of put a saddle on some of those suckers..
Glad you are nit -free hehehehe
Have I mentioned that you are the strongest woman I have ever even HEARD of? Have I? Please tell me you had a cocktail or two. I bet alcohol kills the little buggers.
Hugs Kelley. I hope today is a better day for bot h you and Boo.
We are having the lice saga here too, only Ivy and I were spared.
Personally, I think the conditioner works best anyway.
Your day sounds horrific! I really hope Boo is okay after having that swing fall on top of him. Maybe it might be worth a trip to the doctor’s to get him checked out.
You can tell if people have a head injury if their pupils are fixed and dilated, but I can’t imagine Boo would let you shine a bright light into his eyes to check. I think if you did that, you would be the one suffering concussion.
Congratulations on your 20,000 day. Makes my 94 day look really puny.
Oh, that is so brutal. Either one of those things, the nits or the nightmare swing, would be enough. But then to bunch it all together… I’m sorry to hear it.
Hi Kelley, I have been meaning to come over and comment since Aussiebloggers opened and I arrived on what sounds like a really shitty day for you. Hope Boo had a good night and the cooties are long gone. My bub had a suspected concussion a few months ago and did a massive vomit about 10 minutes after the fall (from a chair) and then was very sleepy (bloody scary). We went to the hospital and had a CT (all clear) but apparently the vomiting was one possible sign of concussion. Hopefully the fact that Boo screamed straight away and didn’t seem to have any immediate symptoms means he’s in the clear. Good luck!
Sweet Jesus, how much more can a little sensory kid take? Poor baby! God help me if my boys get lice; my sensory kid would lose it and his younger brother would follow suit. Whimper… And then the swing! My GOD!
I hope to hell you had several glasses of wine tonight!
Its not what you put in the hair – its the combing that makes the difference. Nothing like being the one who has to comb – enough to put me in a witchy mood.
Ack, yes, that is a lot for the little guy to have to deal with all in one day. Not to mention YOU my dear. Shit, if you lived closer, I would drag you to the spa and we could get massages together.
This makes me feel old. We had many days like this about 5 years ago. Be strong and carry on. Our kids are much more manageable and predictable now. Not perfect, but not so out there.
