Can you tell I am excited? I haven’t been out for years! We are going to go celebrate my birthday. Exactly 7 months ago today.

I am so excited for you!!!! I had a kid & male free dinner last Friday night at a restaurant & it was soooooo exciting.

LOL well i left you semi details of my night out as a comment on one of the other posts so now its your turn Kelley, we need a nice looong post with all the details. I dont have nights out with female friends more than once every second year, so I HAVE to live vicariously off of others for a social life.

Oh and forgot to say, i even got semi dressed up and put lippy on and a low cut top, just to go get a video, see a car yard and get a kebab.
LOL sad in a way, but nice that i dont need to have hundreds of dollars spent on a fancy restuarant to feel like i have had a lovely date.
But hey, i am not knocking the restaurants, its on the wishlist along with jewellery, fancy clothes, fabulous shoes and perfume being bought as gifts for me.
Maybe Lightening can come and brainwash my DBF.
So far he has only gotten to the stage of buying me a block of chocolate as a suprise, this is a big step for him though, he is anti gifts and anti commercialism, and anything that makes the fat cats and DeBeers richer and him poorer, well it doesn’t sit well with him.
Apparently I am not getting through that i would really really really really like just one peice of jewellery (seriously just 1 special one, i am not greedy) from him just to signify that he really loves me and is committed to us (it is bad that i miss wearing my wedding ring even though i dont miss my ex?).
Oh and for a birthday or christmas i really really really want a bottle of Britney Spears Fantasy Perfume, it doesnt smell too bad (just as a change from my normal one that i love) but i really like the pretty glass decanter it comes in, its pink, sparkly and girly and i can reuse it i think (well its glass so assuming i can clean it and then use my normal perfume from it).
I dont have a lot of girly stuff but always wanted it (dreadful when everyone still treats you like a tomboy when you are 30 and you have been wanting a girly present since you were 5 yrs old, whilst your sister got every girly thing you ever imagined).

no I don’t think that its weird that you miss wearing your wedding rings, but not your ex. Obviously if you missed your ex he wouldn’t have become your ex in the first place, but I do have to admit that I feel naked, yes NAKED, without my wedding rings even thought they are so loose right now that I am terrified that they will fall off my finger, I will continue to wear them so that I can feel secure and dressed! lol
and as for the girly stuff……… I was ever so relieved when another girl joined my fire brigade who actually dresses like a girl. Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against jeans – I live in them myself, but I also hold no grudges against perfume or make up or handbags or nice dressy shoes or carefully styled hair or manicured nails or earrings or nice big blingy dangly earrings…… You know what I mean? Most of the other girls in my brigade (there are about 10 of us) dress in joggers, jeans/trackies and polo tops almost exclusively. I realise that we are doing dirty, heavy work at times but thats no reason not to smell or look nice the rest of the time surely?
Its always been a bit of a juggling act – when I was a teen and tomboyish, I was expected not to like girly stuff, and now when I look girly people are shocked to learn that I’m a firefighter not just the wife of one! Can’t win!

I am going out to lunch on Wed with H, but it is a carers function so we will be schmoozing, but a free feed anyway!

MM sounds divine other than the prawn sauce (seafood ugggh). Now you have me craving chicken, avocado and some form of sauce, maybe a white wine sauce or a vinagrette dressing(?sp) or even a sour cream and cheese sauce. LOL and I only just ate dinner around 2 hours ago, steak, cheese, homegrown tomatoes, homegrown cos and some tinned pineapple (yes i know, most people think my taste is strange, but the tang of pineapple with steak and cheese is actually really divine). Would have had avocado with it but havent got any lately, must remind myself to get some tomorrow.
Glad you have promised to do it more often girl, now just make sure you stick to that promise, it will do you the world of good to have a regular girls night out (says me who hasnt had one since pirates of the caribbean 2 came out at the movies).
MMmmm Schmoozing, oh well , for a free feed, as long as the feed is even just basically good, its free, so worth it.
